This Pride month kicks off with a boat cruise themed party, where entertaining karaoke, bingo and disco will keep our passengers partying on deck until the wee hours of the night. So put on your captain's hat or your coolest outfit inspired by Ville Viikinki and come celebrate the opening of Pride Month with us!
Tickets go on sale on May 26th and ticket sales will be announced on GAYY's Instagram (@gayyaalto) and Telegram!

Kaappi on meidän yhdistyksen ikioma olohuone ja hengailutila! Kaappivastaavana oon vastuussa Kaapin kunnosta, kunnostuksista ja avaimista. Käytännössä pestiin liittyy avainten ja avainpanttien organisoimista ja Kaapin yleistä ylläpitoa. Oon ollut myös mukana tekemässä meidän yrityssuhdejuttuja ja niissa hommissa on päässyt laajasti hommaamaan sponsseja meidän eri tapahtumiin yrityksiltä.

Parasta GAYY:ssa on tietenkin yhteisöllisyys ja hyvässä porukassa asioiden tekeminen. On ollut super kivaa päästä järjestämään tapahtumia, joissa porukka on saanut bailata omina itseinään ja tutustua muihin sateenkaareviin! Varmaan parhaat muistot on kyllä GayDaysta jolloin saatiin Smökki täyteen kesäistä sateenkaarikansaa koko päiväksi.

Hiya! I’m Irpo from information networks and my favorite thing right now is my new espresso machine and talking about it 😀

As Closet Responsible I am in charge of our clubroom called “ The Closet”. Mainly it involves organizing the keys, being responsible for cleaning and thinking about ways of improving the space. I have also done some corporate relations in the form of getting sponsors for our events.

The best thing about GAYY is of course the sense of community and getting things done with a good group. It's been super fun to organize events where people can party freely as they are and get to know other queer people! Probably my best memories are from GayDay when we filled Smökki with summery LGBTQ+ students for a whole day.

Heipsu! Moiccu! Me ollaan Eeti ja Janne. Opiskelemme molemmat Spatial Planning and Transportation Engineering maisteriohjelmassa. Pidämme kaupungeista! Me ei ehkä tykätä autoista :(( mut jos sulla on auto niin se on fine! <3 Etenkin jos sillä saa roudailla tavaraa tapahtumatiloihin 🙂

IE:n tehtäviin kuuluu tapahtumien järjestäminen. Vuoden aikana pääsee suunnittelemaan esimerkiksi ihania Sateenkaarisitsejä ja Otaniemi Gay Dayta. Tapahtumien järjestämisessä palkitsevinta onkin, kun saa toteuttaa villejä ideoitaan, ja nähdä kuinka jengi viihtyy!

Päävastuualueina on siis tapahtumien suunnittelu ja etenkin tarjoilujen suunnittelu ja valmistaminen tapahtumakansalle.

Parasta on toimia poikkitieteellisessä hallituksessa ja tavata uusia ihmisiä! Oman roolinsa lisäksi tiiviissä hallituksessa pääsee osallistumaan kaikkeen, mihin oma aika ja kiinnostus riittävät.

Hello! Moiccu! We are Eeti and Janne. We are both studying in the Spatial Planning and Transportation Engineering master's programme. We like cities! We might not like cars :(( but if you have a car it's fine! <3 Especially if you can use it to drive stuff to events 🙂

IE's job is to organize events. For an example, during the year you get to plan the wonderful Rainbow Sits and Otaniemi Gay Day. The most rewarding thing about organizing events is that you get to implement your wild ideas and see how people enjoy themselves!

So the main responsibilities are event planning and preparing the catering for the event crowd.

The best part about GAYY is being part of an interdisciplinary board and meeting new people! In addition to your own role, a close-knit board allows you to make the position fit you, and what you have the time and energy to do.

Hellou, mä oon Ninni ja opiskelen tokaa vuotta Collaborative and Industrial design maisteriohjelmassa. Pari faktaa musta on, että oon tosi huono matikassa ja tykkään tosi paljon possumeista.

Rahastonhoitajana pidän huolen, että laskut ja kulukorvaukset maksetaan ajallaan sekä huolehdin GAYY:n yleisestä rahaliikenteestä - and that’s about it!

Tänä vuonna innostuimme myös keräämään tapahtumiimme sponsoreita sekä yhteistyökumppaneita. Tämä on ollut erityisen palkitseva ja opettava kokemus!

Olemalla osana GAYY:n hallitusta olen päässyt ilmaisemaan itseäni ihan uudella tavalla niin laulunjohtaja sitseillä sekä olemalla osana Aallon parasta yhteisöä!

Hiya, I'm Ninni and I'm a second year student in the Collaborative and Industrial design master's programme. A few facts about me are that I'm terrible at math and that I really like possums.

As treasurer, I make sure that bills and expense reimbursements are paid on time, and take care of GAYY's general financial transactions - and that's about it!

This year, we were also keen on collecting sponsors and partners for our events. This has been a particularly rewarding and educational experience!

Being a part of the GAYY board has allowed me to express myself in a whole new way both by being a song leader at sitsi parties and by being a part of the best community in Aalto!

Hellurei! Mä oon Antti, opiskelen maisema-arkkitehtuuria neljättä vuotta ja oon toiminut tämän vuoden GAYY:n puheenjohtajana.

Mun lemppariasioita tällä hetkellä on opiskelijatapahtumat, pitkät päiväunet ja UNHhhh.

Puheenjohtajana vastaan GAYY:n kokonaiskuvasta ja sen kehittämisestä muun hallituksen kanssa. Tehtäviin kuuluu muun muassa hallituksen ja yhdistyksen kokousten valmistelu, koolle kutsuminen ja niiden vetäminen, sekä huolehtiminen siitä, että yhdistyksen toiminta on aina laillista ja sääntöjen mukaista. Huolehdin myös, että jokaisella hallituslaisella olisi mahdollisimman mukava ja motivoitunut olo olla osa hallitusta!

Parasta hallitushommissa on tutustua uusiin ihmisiin ja tehdä kaikkea kivaa mahtavan porukan kanssa!

Parasta on yhteisö 😉

Hellooo! I’m Antti, a 4th year landscape architecture student and GAYY’s chairperson.

My favorite things at the moment are student events, long naps and UNHhhh.

As chairperson I’m responsible for the overall picture of GAYY, as well as developing our organization together with the other board members. I prepare, summon and lead both board and association meetings and make sure that everything we do is always legal and compliance with the rules. I also look after the board members and make sure that everyone is having a good time and being motivated!

The best part of being in the GAYY board is to meet new people and have fun with a wonderful group!

The best thing is the community ;)
